"Pashmina" from the movie 'Fitoor'! One of my Amit Trivedi favorites. Beautifully sung and composed by him. Earlier, I covered the title track, 'Yeh Fitoor', and now this. Besides, check the full video on YouTube. If any music video can make you poetic by its visuals, its this one. Its a simple song, but instead of strumming the chords, pluck them! You may fingerpick or play it by a plectrum.

Two disturbing trends in Bollywood music

An appeal to #Bollywood #music directors. These two trends are somewhat unsettling. 1. We trust you, the music directors, the creative geniuses, with #original music! Leave the repackaging to us the YouTubers for cheap thrill. 2. Don't deprive us from those signature music, riff, flute, sitar, guitar solo interludes. Create Rap by all means, but separately. A rap in the middle of a love song is as foreign as artichoke on an Uttapam (bad example but you get the idea)! #Learn2Play ★★★ “Zaalima” (Raees) chords – Guitar Bollywood Lesson

Zaalima from Raees is yet another blockbuster by Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur. The music is by Jam8. What is Jam8? Its an initiative of Pritam. More on that for another day. The song uses the percussion effectively, so the guitar has to reflect that feel with the upstrokes. Otherwise, the song is easy, with many repetitive chord sequences.

"Sapna Jahan" from film Brothers, sung by Sonu Nigam and Neeti Mohan. Composed by ever amazing Ajay-Atul! What a composition! Beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam and Neeti Mohan. The entire production is beautiful. Its a soft romantic song, so I decided to do fingerpicking instead of strumming. Chords are really nice. Quite a few changes. Its a perfect song to be played on acoustic guitar, maybe with a piano backing. There is a version on YouTube with Neeti Mohan singing solo unplugged with a piano and guitar.

"Bawara Mann" from the film "Jolly LLB 2"! Celebrate the Valentines day (2017) with the rising voice of romance in Bollywood music, Jubin Nautiyal. The voice of Neeti Mohan is the icing on the cake. They sound extremely romantic in this song. I have always been a big fan of Chirantan Bhatt's music direction. (Listen to "Aye Dil Bata", "Har Kisi Ko" on this channel). This is probably a minimal production in his style of music. It uses guitar very effectively. I decided to do the song by finger-picking instead of pick. The song chords are easy, however finger picking makes it 3★ out of 5. I also love the touch of accordion here. It feels very retro. The song could be an unplugged gold!

MTV Unplugged, feat Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan, Ranjit Barot

By far one of the most enjoyable @unplugged_mtv shows I have seen, you have to watch the session featuring @neetimohan18 and @bennydayalofficial, produced by granddaddy of 'em all, @ranjitbarot! The power sisters 👭 @dey_bass and @esani_dey are a treat to watch. @ashwinflute played some soul stirring flute, so did #HiteshModak some obscure chords on piano 🎹. #Rhys on Sax 🎷was amazing as well. Even the backup lineup, esp #Digvijay sounded so cool. The extra #percussion had #trashcan #timpanis too! Special mention of the beatboxer dude and the rapper on #megaphone, #Vishwesh. What an amazing production! Some may have been fixated at Benny's move on groove, but there's so much beyond that! Seen it a dozen times, yet can't get 'nuff! #mtvunplugged #neetimohan #bennydayal

#Learn2Play ★★ “Jee Le Zaraa” (Talaash) chords – Guitar Bollywood Lesson

"Jee Le Zaraa" from the film Talaash, IMHO, got to be one of the top3 Bollywood songs ever sung by Vishal Dadlani, and he has sung a lot of hits. Ram Sampath's amazing music, the song (and the movie) came out in 2012. I have never got enough of his singing, and this is 2017. I have seen Vishal (and Shekhar) several times, and everytime he sings this one, the entire audience sings with him. Its magical. I also have to mention, most of the times, Vishal performs this song with Warren Mendonsa aka #Blackstratblues playing guitar with him. It certainly soungs extra special. Song isn't hard to play, but singing with emotion is certainly top-notch!
