Music of Poorna
2017-04-01
I may have said this elsewhere, the music of Poorna is special to me, not only because the music is great. All of their music videos feature the real music artists. Often times, when people are listening to the promos of a film, and its music, they picture the actors miming to the songs! Here its not so. The footages from the film mixed with the studio footages. So be it Arijit Singh singing, Salim Merchant playing the Roli Seaboard or Darshan Doshi playing the drums, you see it all.
The first song: Kuchh Parbat Hillayen, an uplifting song, by Arijit Singh. Love the song for its rhythm section, including the alternate chord voicings during the chorus part. Here's the music video.
On a selfish note, here's a cover version of mine, the guitar chord lesson for the same song.
Poori Qaayaanat, is a song I already wrote about. Sung by Raj Pandit and Vishal Dadlani, this is one of songs of Salim-Sulaiman, that was done way back in Coke Studio. The music video follows.
Lastly, the intimate version of Kuch Parbat Hilayen by the composer Salim Merchant himself! Yet another brilliant music video, that lets us get a feel of the actual recording session.
There is another brilliant song, Baabul Mora, beautifully sung by Arijit Singh, but I believe, the official video is yet to release. I thank the filmmaker Rahul Bose to have released the music video like this.
